This year marks a pivotal year in your child’s educational life. Already, they have advanced competently through the strata of a rigorous primary academics throughout the years and now, this year, they will enjoy a loftier plateau from which to gaze back upon their early elementary education careers. Fourth graders will be enjoying an abundant taste of what’s to come and experiencing all the benefits of a unified, invigorating learning environment.

It is in this scenario that your child is entering when they step through this door on the first day of the 2022/2023 academic school year. They are near the summit of an incredible climb through the grade levels. However, they must always keep in mind the words of a great wise forefather who once said before us, “Great power demands great responsibility.” Now your children will be looked upon intently by younger students, peers, parents and teachers alike to provide strong leadership roles in the classroom, school and in social settings. They will also be held to a higher standard than the students of lower grades and expectations will run high.

I believe they will all meet this lofty challenge, and indeed, make this a memorable year. Let’s make a goal to shed the fears which hold us back and stretch ourselves into new adventures, experiences and beginnings. Let’s make this adventure a year to remember as our incredible journey begins...
