About The Teacher

This will be my 19th year teaching special education at PCM High School. I graduated from Sigourney High School.  I am a graduate of Buena Vista University in Storm Lake with a BA in Elementary Education, a minor in Psychology, and endorsements in Reading, Special Education, and Social Science.  I am a graduate, with my Masters in Special Education (BD, LD, and MD), from Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa.

I live on a farm outside of Oskaloosa with my husband - Mike; my dog - Blue, and cat - Tinkerbell. We have a small cow/calf operation and raise corn/soybeans/hay.  I have one son - Philip, 2 grandsons - Carter & Hayden, and a granddaughter - Carleigh.  In my spare time, I like to garden, travel to Kansas City, spend time with my family, and watch football. 

Mission Statement

I want each student to be successful. I know that I need to be a motivator and need to provide opportunities for students to learn. I want to provide a positive influence and positive learning environment for my students. It is important to remember that not all students have the same learning style and will learn at different rates than their peers.
