What to expect...

Common Core Algebra

This year, students will be taking the Common Core Algebra Regents in June! Here is an overview of what to expect!

  1. Supplies
    • Students need a graphing calculator (preferably a TI 83/84). This will be used in class daily, as students will be allowed to use it on their entire regents exam.
    • I am asking that students use a separate small binder for Algebra. There is no textbook so they will be receiving a lot of handouts. At the end of each unit, we will "clean out" our binders so it does not become overwhelming.
  2. Instruction
    • Students will be presented with new lessons every day. We use emath instruction as a guideline, supplementing as needed. This site will provide students with a copy of the guided notes, homework as well as a video of each lesson.
  3. Extra Help
    • I am available for extra help in my room, 325, Monday - Friday.
  4. Assessments
    • Students will always know ahead of time when there will be any type of graded assessment. Also, there will be a midterm some time in January. The midterm will be administered and graded like the regents exam.

Looking forward to a successful and FUN year? Algebra is my favorite and I bet that soon it will be yours too ;)
