Lettering Requirements

To letter, a speaker must:

• Compete in at least five tournaments.
• Practice with his or her coach once a week.
• Be recommended to letter by their coach.
• Perform in the speech team showcase.
• Compete, if selected, at all of the following tournaments:
  • The Wright County Conference Speech Tournament.
  • MSHSL Sub Sections
  • MSHSL Section 6AA Tournament (if you advance from Sub Sections)
  • MSHSL State Speech Tournament (if you advance from Sections)
• Those who are not selected to compete at any of the above tournaments must observe at one of the following:
  • MSHSL Sections
  • MSHSL State
  • National Speech and Debate qualifying (NSDA Quals)
