PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES

SPA traditionally provides financial and/or volunteer support for:

• • Teacher Grants for education materials and equipment

  • Freshman/New Student Orientation and/or Welcome

  • Senior Breakfast

  • Picture Day

  • Pre-Game Tailgates

  • Back-To-School Night

  • OHS Dances, including Homecoming, Winter-fest, Back to School, You Matter Week, Service Day,  etc.

  • Fall & Spring Teacher Conference Meals and Snacks

  • Teacher Holiday Cookie Exchange

  • Teacher Appreciation Week

  • ACT Testing Day Snacks for Students

  • Prom Grand March and Prom

  • Graduation Recognition or Reception

  • Scholarships for 4 Graduating Seniors

During the 2024-2025 academic year, SPA gave over $9000 in support of 11 different departments:

• Various Departments – Monitors for Debate, Scanners for Media Center, Charging Stations, Multiple Standing Desks for Teachers, Suicide Prevention Speaker for all HS students, Gift Cards for Staff Meetings, Claw Bots for Tech Ed, New Student Fund for Activities

• P.E. - Storage for Supplies/Equipment

• Science – Digital Balances, Dissecting Microscopes, Maps, Sensors, EKG sensors

• Social Studies - Collaboration Apps

• Languages - On-line Subscriptions, Headphones

• English - Book Cases

• Math – Scientific Calculators, Graphing Calculators

• Arts - White Board for Demonstrations

• Music - Leather Folders for Concerts

In 2025-26, SPA anticipates continuing to provide funding for teacher grants, as well as student recognition/booster activities and teacher recognition efforts.  Volunteer efforts and parent contributions will also be needed throughout the year.
