FITNESS COMPONENTS

Jungle Gym/Exercise Bands Guide

Our goal in each individual physical education class is to help your kids move better and smarter. By incorporating fitness into the beginning of each class and then moving into our game or activity of the day, we strive to involve all aspects of the 4 major fitness components listed below.

Cardiovascular Endurance--The body's ability to maintain movement for a long period of time. (walking, swimming, biking, running)

Muscular strength--The amount of force a muscle can exert (less than 90 seconds). (weight lifting, bench press)

Agility and flexibility--The ability to move joints and muscles through their full range of motion. (yoga, stretching)

Muscular Endurance--The ability of a muscle or group of muscles to work over a sustained period of time (more than 90 seconds). (Rowing, flexed arm hang, pacer push ups)
