NJHS

National Junior Honor Society

The National Junior Honor Society is a national organization that promotes

appropriate recognition for students who reflect outstanding accomplishments

in the areas of scholarship, character, leadership, citizenship, and service.

8th grade students who meet the requirements as outlined by the

NJHS Handbook will be notified and inducted in the fall of 2017.

Once students are inducted they are responsible for the following:

1. Scholarship: maintain 90% or higher cumulative average (5 core courses)

2. Community Service: 10+ hours volunteer work in school and community by June 1st

3. Citizenship & Character: demonstrate continuous and ongoing compliance with all

school/community rules and expectations while demonstrating a positive attitude

4. Leadership: demonstrates leadership in school and/or the community
