PRACTICES AND CHOREOGRAPHY
Competition choreography, taught by RISE Cheerleading, was scheduled prior to tryouts. These dates are August 7th and 8th from 4 :00-7:00pm in the SRHS Cafeteria.
Competition choreography is MANDATORY for all competition members, including alternates.
Competition practices were scheduled prior to tryouts as well. Practices will be held starting after choreography on Monday and Wednesday from 2:00-3:30pm in the cafeteria.
Practices are mandatory, as stated in the constitution. In addition, "Absences from practice must be pre-arranged with coach 1 week prior for doctor’s appointments, family activities, and/or other school functions (including tutoring, making up tests and/or activities for other clubs)" and "If a member is absent from school, they are not allowed to attend practice, unless the absence was pre-approved" (Cheer Constitution 23-24, VII. PRACTICES).
Excessive absences from practices can result in demerits. Cheerleaders will be removed from competition team for the following: after 3 unexcused absences, grades, NIAA rules and regulations, and/or per the constitution agreement. Athletes will not recieve a refund for competition expenses if removed.
Coach Jordan is requiring that all competition team cheerleaders attend choreography and competition practices whether rostered to the competition team or not. Alternates will shadow someone in their stunting position and learn choreography, as well as try and practice stunts. Alternates are just as important as the team itself and no one should be left out of the opportunity to practice skills, bond, and step in when needed. Expectations will be the same for everyone!
Please contact Coach Jordan with any questions regarding tryouts and finances.
