I do not use Chromebooks in my classes; however, I do post a daily summary of class activity along with assignments and due dates. Below is the link to Clever (to access Canvas classes):
What is the late work policy?
Late work is accepted up until one week after the end of each unit.
What do I do if I'm absent?
Class activity is posted in Canvas. Some assignments are posted in Canvas, but students can always obtain hard copies in class. There is a designated container in the classroom for missed work. Please look at assignment due dates to ensure you're keeping up with the class. If you're still not sure what to do after checking Canvas, please come in before or after school to discuss.
I turned in that assignment, but it's not showing up in Infinite Campus.
First, please double check that you still don't have it. If you turn in an assignment late (after the due date but within the one week grace period, your assignment will be marked "missing" until it is graded. Late work is not a grading priority.
Can I redo this assignment for a higher grade?
No. Formative assignments cannot not be redone for more credit.
Can I retake the test/quiz?
Yes. Due to the bell schedule change for the 2026-2027 school year, test and quiz retakes will be held before school on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Retakes must be completed within one week after the unit ends. You should have completed all work for the unit before you attempt a retake.
What do I do if I miss a lab?
Science labs are an essential part of science class because they give students the opportunity to apply scientific concepts through hands-on experience. During labs students practice data collection, critical thinking, and teamwork while gaining experience on the use of scientific equipment. Students will have the opportunity to complete missed labs before school on Mondays and Wednesdays up to two days after the lab was assigned in class, as time constraints, lab space, and efficacy of materials allows. Otherwise, in order to receive full credit, students will need to come in and complete an alternate assignment.
Is there tutoring?
Students are welcome to come in Mondays and Wednesdays before school for extra help. Currently, there is no formal Chemistry tutoring at CHS.
