Short Bio

I joined the Nazarbayev University in 2015 after earning my Ph.D. degree in Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison under the supervision of John Kennan. During my doctorate degree, I was awarded with a pre-doctoral fellowship by the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) for my work titled as “Labor Force Attachment Beyond Normal Retirement Age.”

I completed my undergraduate degree in Mathematics and Economics (double major) with top ranking, and Master’s Degree in Economics with a fellowship awarded by TUBITAK, The Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey, at Koc University, Istanbul.

My research interests are in the areas of Labor Economics, Applied Microeconomic, Econometrics, and Financial Economics. My current research projects focus on labor supply decisions, and risky asset holdings of the elderly, trade credit, delinquency and bank credit, correction of generalized attrition bias in rotating panels, correction of selectivity bias in models of double selection, and informal competition.
