Resource class includes:
1. Remediation of goal areas
a. Each student will complete activities that will promote growth in designated goals as stated in the I.E.P.
b. A student may work with partners/small groups to promote growth in similar goal areas as stated in the I.E.P.
2. Organizational Skills
a. Each student will participate in activities that will increase their ability to organize their school materials.
b. Each student will learn strategies that will support him/her in the classroom.
c. Each student will participate in class discussions and activities to learn strategies to organize and manage homework.
3. Study Skills
a. Each student will learn different strategies that will improve his/her ability to study for different types of assessments.
b. Each student will participate in class discussions and activities to learn different strategies from peers and the teacher.
A successful Resource student will:
1. Come to class prepared with his/her assignment
notebook and materials.
2. Listen to others.
3. Participate in partner and group discussions.
4. Try different strategies.

- Time to read independently
- Vocabulary at grade level
- Read Aloud, Think Aloud: Teacher directed, grade level reading passages to learn
reading strategies and comprehension skills
- Classroom Conversations: Whole group, in groups, or pairs discussions about the
Read Aloud passage.
- Work Time: Practice reading fluency, comprehension, and writing skills
