College credit courses are currently offered through Doane University, Wayne State, and Southeast Community College.
College credit opportunities:
Dual credit: high school and college credit earned (can also be taken for high school only credit)
Advanced Placement (AP): AP exam given at end of school year
SENCAP Courses: high school and college credit earned
course lists provided in April and November for each term
A grade of a 'C' or above is required to earn college credit.
Tuition is paid to the participating college for all dual credit and college credit only courses. Students access bills through their student accounts.
Eligibility: Documentation must be submitted with the application confirming the student or student’s parent(s)/guardian(s) have been approved to receive federal benefits (free and reduced lunch) or an extreme hardship See your school counselor for assistance.
Federal ACE scholarships will cover the eligible student's tuition (money is distributed on a first come, first serve basis until the funds are all allocated).
Doane dual credit classes: for yearlong classes, fill out the Fall ACE application
SCC dual credit yearlong classes: for yearlong classes, fill out the Spring ACE application. Contact the SCC business department to notify them in billing that you are applying for the ACE application in the spring so they do not bill you in the fall.
SCC dual credit semester classes: fill out the ACE application that corresponds with the semester you're taking the class
