CLASS INFORMATION AND EXPECTATIONS

Envisions Math 2.0

• Follow the PBIS Classroom expectations and school rules as found in the planner

• Assignments and announcements will be on Google Classroom

• Bring planner, notebook and a writing utensil to class, student books will remain in classroom (all parts of student books and extra resources are available online)

• Homework, practice problems, lesson quizzes will be assigned every lesson. The primary use will be to prepare for mid topic and end of topic assessments.

• Grades will be earned by taking points earned divided by points possible:

  • FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT--Homework/practice problems will be worth two points per lesson.

  • SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT--Mid-Topic and end of Topic Assessments will be worth between 30 and 80 per assessment depending on length of topic

    • RETAKES--To be eligible to retake summative assessments, student must receive a score of 4 out of 5 on all lesson quizzes leading up to the assessment

    • RETAKES--The teacher will take the highest score earned

• The only device you may use is your chromebook or calculator NO PHONES!!!

• Please note this is the first year of a new curriculum...there may be adjustments as we learn together

• enVisionmath2.0 6-8 was designed to provide students rich opportunities to build understanding of important new mathematical concepts and develop fluency with key skills necessary for success in algebra, and to gain proficiency with the habits of mind and thinking dispositions of proficient mathematical students. To achieve these goals, the program includes content-focused lessons, 3-Act Mathematical Modeling lessons, and STEM projects.
