Students have spelling homework Monday through Thursday nights. It is highly recommended that your child read ~20 minutes each night. Also, students need to memorize their multiplication/division facts by the end of third grade. It is recommended that your child study their math facts each week. If any special projects or homework needs to be assigned, you will receive ample notice.

Homework Planner

Here are some tips you might find useful...

1. Set up a study area—a place at home that is well-lit, quiet, with all necessary supplies close at hand, e.g. flash cards, dictionary, etc.

2. Schedule daily homework time—homework time should be at about the same time each evening (consistency is key), not too late, and when a parent is available for questions.

3. Encourage your child to work independently—through homework students learn study skills that help them become more independent. Only offer help when other resources have been explored. When students attempt to use other resources (besides adults at home) to complete homework, it will help them develop problem solving skills.
