Jacie Ommen grew up in the small-town of Rockwell City, IA. She graduated from Rockwell City-Lytton High School (‘09), earned her Associate of Arts Degree from Iowa Central Community College (‘13), a Bachelor of Music Education from Simpson College (‘15) and finally her Masters of Arts in Teaching ('21) from Morningside College. Throughout her time in college she was involved in collegiate choir, show choir, vocal jazz, concert band, jazz band, marching band, orchestra, and brass ensemble.
Mrs. Ommen taught for seven years in the Woodward Granger Community School District, where she directed 6th-12th grade vocal music, vocal jazz, show choir, directed & choreographed the high school musical, and was the head speech coach. This will be her third year at Norwalk teaching 8th-12th grade Vocal Music, directing extracurricular show choirs, and directing the annual Spring Musical.
In her free time, Mrs. Ommen enjoys playing Disc Golf competitively, going to musicals, traveling with her husband Kirby, sending quality time with friends and family, and gardening.
Brandt Roskens

Brandt Roskens was raised in Spencer, Iowa. He graduated from Spencer High School in 2015, and received his Bachelor in Music Education from the University of Northern Iowa in 2019. While in his undergrad, he was heavily involved with nearly all aspects of the choral program, and helped to form and direct UNI's a cappella ensemble "The Singpins". Mr. Roskens is also featured on albums from the UNI Varsity Men's Glee Club and The Singpins on Spotify and Apple Music.
Mr. Roskens taught 5 years at Emmetsburg as the 7-12 choral director. While teaching at Emmetsburg, he earned his Master's Degree in Organizational Leadership from Buena Vista University, and continued the tradition of choral excellence in all aspects of the choral program. This included jazz choir, multiple show choirs, multiple show bands, directing all aspects of the fall musicals, and hosting multiple jazz/show choir competitions each year. Emmetsburg consistently was asked to perform at the Iowa Vocal Jazz Championships (IVJC) the last 4 years under Mr. Roskens, and the HS show choir was consistently ranked one of the top 2A show choirs in the state of Iowa. This will be Mr. Roskens' first year teaching at Norwalk, and he is excited to be joining the team!
In his free time, Mr. Roskens enjoys golfing, construction, and most importantly spending time with his wife, Sarah. She is his biggest supporter, and he could not imagine life without her.
Tasha Becker grew up in DeWitt, Iowa and graduated from Central DeWitt High School ('14). She received her Bachelor of Arts in Music from Iowa State University with additional courses in Music Technology ('19). She received her Master of Music in Percussion Performance from The New School ('23) in New York City, studying with Grammy-nominated percussionists, Broadway pit musicians, and members of the New York City Ballet Orchestra and New York Philharmonic.
As a pianist, Tasha has worked with various choirs, vocal and instrumental soloists, and instrumental chamber ensembles ranging from elementary to collegiate level. In 2006 she placed 1st at regional IMTA and received honorable mention at state. She placed 1st in the Quad Cities Baroque Piano Competition in 2010. She has also worked as a worship band pianist, most recently at Calvary Gospel Chapel in Philadelphia. As a percussionist, Tasha performed in a percussion quartet at Iowa State, placing 4th in the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC) Collegiate Concert Chamber Percussion Ensemble competition. She won the Iowa PAS marimba solo competition in 2019. She has performed in various esteemed venues around NYC, including Lincoln Center, the DiMenna Center, National Sawdust, and Alchemical. As a member of Village Verein, Tasha performed Stravinsky's L'Histoire du Soldat off-Broadway. Recently, she interned with Theodore Presser in Philadelphia.
Outside of music, Tasha enjoys watching WNBA (go Aces!), doting on her pets, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
