BUSINESS EDUCATION DEPARTMENT

HONOR SOCIETY

PURPOSE:

        • To recognize and reward high achievement in the business education classroom

        • To promote the continuity of interest in and enthusiasm for the study of business

        • To stimulate achievement, interest, and enthusiasm for business in other students

QUALIFICATIONS:

Students Must:

I. Submit a completed application which includes the following:

    • a record of business courses

    • a personal statement about why they should be considered for admission

    • future plans in Business Education

II. Complete a minimum of full-year and one half-year business course or equivalent by end of junior year and be currently enrolled in a business course during senior year.

III. Attain an 89.5 cumulative year-end average for all above-mentioned courses and maintain that average during the junior and senior year.

IV. Complete 5 hours of service in the Business Department during junior or senior year.

Examples of Service include:

Computer lab assistant for Period 9 lab

Assist in community education program

Individualized projects

Assist with the AARP Tax-Aide Program

Assisting at the bookstore concession during football games, open school night and parent-teacher conferences

Working in the bookstore during lunch periods and Study Hall
