General Updates
Thank you for your continued support of our performers and athletes! We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events!
Go Hornets!
Mr. Campobasso
Dear Athletes, Students, and Families,
As we look ahead to the beginning of 2026–2027 school year, we are excited to welcome our student-athletes and performers back to the stage, fields, courts, and courses.
This offseason, our department dedicated time to focusing on all aspects of student health and wellness. We want to ensure that our students are supported both physically and mentally so they can perform at their highest potential in a safe environment.
Here are several key updates and health initiatives for the upcoming year:
Health, Safety, and Mental Wellness Training
We worked with our coaching staff over the summer to ensure all coaches maintain full currency in their core certifications, including Coaching Certification, Concussion protocol, CPR/AED training, and First Aid.
Additionally, we partnered with the Community Impact Team to offer Mental Health First Aid training to our coaching staff. Our ultimate goal is to have 100% of our coaches trained in Mental Health First Aid so we are better equipped to serve, recognize, and assist our students whenever needed.
Nutrition & Performance Education
Proper fueling is essential for peak performance and recovery, especially during intense summer training. Earlier this summer, Brooke Caplinger, North Reading's Dietitian and Nutritionist, shared foundational fueling resources with our teams.
This season, we have scheduled dedicated sessions for each of our fall athletic programs to meet directly with Ms. Caplinger. These sessions will dive deeper into effective strategies for fueling the body, staying hydrated, and staying prepared for the demands of training and competition in the late-summer heat.
Athletic Training & Healthcare Services
Our greatest asset in maintaining the physical health of our student-athletes is our Certified Athletic Trainer, Chrissy Marotto. Below is an important message and detailed resource guide directly from Chrissy regarding athletic healthcare, injury coordination, and return-to-play protocols for the season:
Message from North Reading High School Athletic Trainer Chrissy Marotto:
As the athletic trainer at North Reading High School, I provide healthcare services for all student‑athletes. This includes on‑field evaluations during practices and games, after-school injury assessments, rehabilitation, and guiding athletes safely through their return to sport process.
I also work through Mass General Brigham, which gives our athletes direct access to orthopedic care. If an athlete needs further evaluation, I can help coordinate same-day visits at the MGB Walk‑In Orthopedic Clinic in Peabody or arrange an appointment with an orthopedic physician within a few days.\
Communication & Return to Play
If an athlete sees a physician for an injury, please notify me immediately. The athlete must have written clearance before returning to sport.
For concussions, athletes must receive written clearance by a physician and complete the required return-to-play protocol under my direct supervision to ensure a safe and gradual progression back to activity.
My goal is to keep our athletes healthy, informed, and supported throughout their seasons. If you ever have questions or concerns, please reach out—I’m here to help!

Once you select the school, you'll be taken to its dedicated profile page. This page is the hub for all the school's sports content, including schedules, videos, and live streams.
Using the Hudl Fan App
Download the Hudl Fan app from your device's app store .
Open the app and tap the Search icon.
Type “North Reading High School”.
Finding the Live Stream
Once you're on the school's profile page, you can find the live stream in a few ways:
Look for the "Streaming" tag: Events that are being streamed will have a Streaming tag on the schedule or video page.
Check the schedule: Look at the upcoming games or events. A live game should have a play button or a clear indication that it's currently streaming.

As the school year gets underway, we want to remind everyone about the importance of good sportsmanship and respect at all of our events. Being a fan is a fun role, but so is being a coach, a referee, and a fellow spectator. Each person has a specific job to do, and when we all respect each other's roles, the game is more enjoyable for everyone. Let's show our Hornet pride by cheering on our teams and treating all players, coaches, and officials with courtesy. Thank you for your support!
Curious about who's playing for your favorite team this season? Look for the "Roster" tab to see a full list of players. It's a great way to cheer on our Hornets!!
