"A book must be the axe for the frozen sea within us" - While Kafka saw reading as transformative, something capable of breaking through emotional and intellectual barriers, C.S Lewis captured the essence of reading as a way to connect with shared human experiences, bridging isolation through stories - "We read to know we are not alone". From seeking wisdom and expanding your understanding of cultures, ideas and human experiences to finding a refuge from the busyness of life in poetic words, whatever your reason to engage with literature, we at LitC have got you covered.
Our club is dedicated to creating a vibrant literary community that connects members with their reading lists, book discussions, open mics and writing sessions. We have a functioning library with around 160 books - adventures, anime, fantasy, poetry, sci-fi, fiction and nonfiction. We also conduct regular fun and exciting events and game nights like Crisis Committee and Khaos (we know y'all had a lot of fun at that!) while actively working towards a newsletter for the club and many more exciting events.
During the semesters, the community library opens from Thursday to Sunday, 9 PM to 11 PM.
We maintain a diverse collection of books, classified under Fiction, Non-Fiction, Science Fiction, Fantasy, Classics, Poetry, Drama, Collections, Comics, Popular Science, Self Help, Romance, Biographies, and Autobiographies.
Do drop in and see us sometime!
“Lock up your libraries if you like; but there is no gate, no lock, no bolt that you can set upon the freedom of my mind.”
– Virginia Woolf
" Tis our noble aim to bestow upon the good scholars of NISER a most unparalleled experience in reading. Whether it be the gathering of volumes, their careful ordering for ready access, their offering unto thee for perusal, or the sharing of thy thoughts and reviews, with the words of others laid bare for thee to see—our service is steadfast and true. "
