As a James Logan High School Alumni, I swam from 2001-2003 and was Captain my senior year. I was Head Swim Coach for a USA Summer League Swim Team, the Union City Leopard Sharks from 2005-2010. I then began Coaching for James Logan Junior Varsity Swim Team in 2006, and then the Varsity Girls in 2010.
I studied Speech Communications at California State University, East Bay, and acquired my Bachelor’s Degree in 2009, with an emphasizing in Interpersonal Communications. I have also acquired an American Swim Coaches Association Level 3 certification, by become an All-American Swim Coach.
As a Coach I strive to share my love for swimming, and the Ocean; while passionately coaching safe, fun, competitive swimming skills, individual strengths, sportsmanship, and the importance of unity and teamwork.
I started swimming competitively at the age of 5 for Treeview swim team. I swam 4 years Varsity for James Logan high school from 2001-2005. I competed 2 years at the junior college level and 2 years at the 4 year college level. I currently enjoy competing in fun runs and open water swims. I am a Physical Education teacher for the New Haven School District at James Logan High School.
I began coaching in 2006 as an assistant coach for Treeview swim team. I started coaching the JV teams for James Logan in 2010. At the end of the 2019 James Logan swim season, I officially became the Varsity Boys coach.
As a coach my goals are to help all of my athletes to become stronger, faster, and well rounded individuals in and out the water. I hope to instill on them good sportsmanship, teamwork, and integrity, all while being a part of the James Logan swimming family.
