My name is Suzann Graf and I am so excited to be teaching 4th grade this year!! I look forward to a year of fun and adventurous learning! I am married to a retired Wilmington firefighter, Jim and I have a 14-year-old son who attends Laney High School! Some of my favorite things are the beach, sea turtles, anything beach-themed, reading, needlepoint, caramel-mocha coffee, the color teal, Mexican food, and chocolate!

This is my 28th year teaching and I love it more and more each year! I believe that students learn through the use of technology. I believe that students learn when active so we are in for a fun year! I have earned my Master's Degree in Language and Literacy so reading is one of my favorite subjects!

I believe that a classroom is a family. Our class will work together to establish a classroom community where each and every student is appreciated and respected. Students will work together to become life-long, independent learners. Our motto is "Problem Solve Every Day".

Our classroom management plan will focus on rewarding good behavior. Students will work to earn "Dojo Points" that can be exchanged for privileges. Points can be earned by helping others, turning in extra work, etc. Once a student has saved enough points, they may buy a privilege. Privileges include bringing a stuffed animal to school, write in pen for a day, games on the computer, etc. As needed, individual behavior contracts will be created.
