Mrs. Sokolinsky earned her Master's Degree in Student Development at Appalachian State University and a Bachelor in Science in Business Management from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. More recently, she has achieved National Board Certification for Career Technical Education and is a Microsoft Certified Educator, Microsoft Certified Trainer, Google Educator and holds Microsoft Office Certifications in Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook. Her content knowledge is balanced with her work experience to prepare her for the ever-changing world of education.
As a professional educator, she has more than 20 years experience in the classroom teaching students from the high school level to adult learners. As an educator, she has taught classes to include: Microsoft Office Applications, Career Management, Career Development, Principles of Business, Business Law and a Resident Assistant Leadership Course to name a few. With changing curriculum and a dynamic world, she has consistently focused on professional development to meet the needs of her students and the profession.
Outside the classroom, Sheila finds balance by staying actively involved in her community through participation in events such as BikeMS and the Relay for Life supporting the American Cancer Society.
When asked what advice she would offer to a student, Sheila will tell you to simply “be true to you!”. All students come to school to achieve their goals, be true to that at all times and you will be successful!
