About Me

About Me

My name is Alison Duncavage and I am so proud and excited to be a part of the Masonboro family! This is my third school year at Masonboro and my fifth year in the county. Before I came to New Hanover County, I worked as a school counselor in Pensacola, Florida. I received my Master's Degree in Counselor Education from the University of Virginia in 2016. I received my Bachelor's of Science in Psychology with a minor in Family Studies from James Madison University in 2014. From a more personal standpoint, I am a military wife and an aunt of six wonderful children. I enjoy traveling, music, the great outdoors, and spending time with family and friends.

Program Mission

It is the mission of NHCS school counselors to collaborate between schools, communities, families, and students to ensure that all students are offered the opportunity to achieve their personal, academic, and social potential.

All students have the right and ability to grow and succeed in personal, social, and emotional areas. It is my mission as Masonboro's school counselor to cultivate growth and success for all students in the personal, academic, socio-emotional, and college/career domains.
