I'm originally from Illinois and moved to North Carolina when I was 12 years old. After spending most of my life here, I consider North Carolina my home. I'm also a proud Tar Heel and Carolina Panthers fan!
Ever since I was a little girl, I dreamed of becoming a teacher. I loved playing "school" and even had my own school desk at home! I attended the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW), knowing that teaching was the career I wanted to pursue. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Psychology, then continued at UNCW to earn my Master's in Teaching.
This year marks my 17th year of teaching! I've had the privilege of teaching 1st through 4th grade, and I'm thrilled to begin my second year at Porters Neck Elementary. Every school year brings new opportunities to learn, grow, and create lasting memories, and I can't wait to see what this year has in store for our class.
When I'm not at school, I love spending time with my family, relaxing at the beach, reading a good book, shopping, staying active, and playing with my two dachshunds.
I believe that a strong partnership between home and school helps every child succeed. I'm looking forward to getting to know your family and working together to make this a wonderful, exciting, and successful school year!
