I am originally from Illinois and moved to North Carolina when I was in 6th grade. Of course, at first I didn't want to move, but afterwards I fell in love with North Carolina and had no desire to ever go back to the cold winters in Illinois. Living most of my life in NC, I call it my home.  I am a Tarheel and Panthers fan!

Ever since I was a little girl I wanted to be a teacher.  I remember playing "school" and even had my own school desk at home to play.  I attended UNCW without a doubt in my mind of becoming a teacher.  I graduated with my Bachelor's in Elementary Education and a Minor in Psychology.  I continued at UNCW to receive my Master's in Teaching and then entered the classroom.  This will be my 16th year teaching.  I have taught 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade. This will be 1st year at Porters Neck and can't wait to see what this year holds!

When I'm not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family , going to the beach, playing with my dachshunds, shopping, reading, and doing zumba. I'm looking forward to a great year working with you and your child!
