Workbooks are collections classwork assignments and notes that are averaged together into a single large grade. By grouping their work in this way, students develop personal organization skills and have easy access to relevant study materials that they are allowed to use while taking tests for my class.
Each Workbook follows the same format:
Cover: the cover is optional but is worth a full letter grade of extra credit. For full extra credit, students must include a drawing of their own creation that is in color and relevant to the Unit topic. The student should also include the Workbook's title and write their name at the top of the cover.
Table of Contents: if a cover is not included, the Table of Contents will be the first page of the workbook and should match the chronological order in which the assignments were completed. If students do not already have their assignments in chronological order, they can access a list of the assignments that go into each Workbook by going to my Google Classroom, clicking on the Classwork tab and scrolling to the Workbook they are putting together.
Once their Table of Contents is made (and their name at the top of the page), students then put all the assignment papers listed on the Table of Contents behind that page in chronological order, staple the papers in the upper left hand corner, and turn them in to Mr. Arthur
If a student is confused about which assignment is which, the Google Classroom Classwork tab has links to all materials used in class and can be referenced to identify an assignment or make it up.
Once a Workbook is complete and the student is ready to take the Unit test, all pages should be placed into the same order as the Table of Contents, stapled, and turned in.
