Biography of Mr. White:
I was born in the beautiful mountainous state of West Virginia, grew up in the cold winter state of Michigan, Spent two years in Washington State in the military seeing if life in the military really was like it was on the tv show M*A*S*H (it wasn't).
Moved to California because....who doesn't want to live in California? I mean it looked so cool on The Brady Bunch. I decided no I didn't want to live in California, so, much like the Beverly Hillbillies, we packed up our belongings and moved to Wilmington, NC.
I have a degree from Eastern Michigan University, where our football team once held the longest losing streak in the nation (I started rooting for the University of Michigan instead).
I have over thirty years experience working with adolescents who may have behavior , emotional or other issues in their lives. I have also worked with youths on the autism spectrum. Have you ever seen the movie Rainman? I worked with one of the young men Dustin Hoffman based his character on and attended to premiere.
I have been married to my beautiful wife for 30 years (We started dating 40 years ago!) and we have one incredible son (who was a Murray student at one point and later graduated from UNCW). I enjoy reading, family genealogy, traveling (but not by plane), collecting old toys, writing and anything Reese's!
, I literally grew up in the church (my father was a Presbyterian minister), I've held a variety of jobs including paperboy, radio deejay, newspaper columnist, Autism Services Center, Live in Group Home Manager(teenagers with social/emotional/anger issues), Manager of 16 screen movie theatre (I saw a lot of movies and ate a lot of popcorn), and many other jobs which gave me a variety of experience which I rely on in the classroom t o help reach and teach students.
This is my 25th year at Murray Middle School, where I have worn many hats over the years and not just to cover my bald spot. Young people are our future, and whether I work with your son or daughter, I will work to ensure they have a positive experience at our school. If you have any questions or comments please do not hesitate to email, call or send Morse code., as I am here to help. Now I return you to your regularly scheduled program. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
