Welcome to the 23-24 school year!  I am excited to get started and hope to have a fun and productive year.  The focus this year will be on oral proficiency so expect daily speaking activities as well as many speaking assessments throughout the semester.

Please stop by room 111 H if there are ever any questions or concerns and remember:  The best way to learn a foreign language is to study a little bit everyday - about 15 minutes.  This will help the vocabulary and grammar "stick" and make sure that the information stays in your long-term memory.   If tutoring or make up work is needed, please attend FLEX any Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday for assistance.

At times homework will be assigned.  I believe it is important for students to spend time on their own to ensure that they understand the material.  I will always go over the assignment the following day in class. The homework is not lengthy, just enough to review current material.  Students have one week to turn in any missing assignments i.e. homework and/or projects.  Their grade will be lowered (unless they were absent). However, this grade is always better than a zero.

I believe that if we all work together, student, teacher and parent, we will have a successful semester.  Please feel free to contact me  if you have any questions or concerns.  Email is the best and most expedient way to communicate. My email address is Meredith.Kopec@nhcs.net

We will be using the following websites throughout the semester.  You may want to set up accounts and keep a list of your login and passwords.

1):  www.conjuguemos.com (Links to an external site.) (links will be on Canvas)

2):  www.boomlearning.com (Links to an external site.) (login info on Canvas)

Finally, keep in mind that all work is your own.  Any vocabulary and/or grammar NOT learned in NHC Spanish I curriculum or in our current Spanish II or Spanish III class will result in a zero - no exceptions.  You may not have help from friend/relative and/or any translation website.  AI tools are sources that must be cited using [include appropriate style guide] when used. Failure to cite AI tools in a violation of NHCS Policy 4310: Integrity and Civility.
