Hello! My name is Melissa Ritter and I am the MTSS Coordinator and Intensive Interventionist at Anderson Elementary. I relocated from Virginia to Wilmington in 2019 and have been enjoying everything Wilmington has to offer ever since.
I graduated from Shepherd College in West Virginia with a degree in K–6 Elementary Education in 2000 and earned a master's degree in Educational Administration from Shenandoah University in Virginia in 2005.
My educational career has included teaching at the middle school level for five years, followed by 14 years as a middle school assistant principal. I then served as the MTSS Coordinator and Interventionist at College Park Elementary for six years. I am excited to begin my second year at Anderson Elementary and my 27th year in education!
I am the proud parent of two amazing children and four incredible grandchildren. When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family, playing with my grandchildren, walking on the beach in search of shark teeth, and reading a good book. I feel fortunate to have so many opportunities to be with my family, especially during the summer months.
I look forward to a wonderful school year working alongside the students, staff, and families of Anderson Elementary!
