About Us

The regional liaison supports the special education team at the schools and serves as the direct link to the district Special Education office. Liaisons provide guidance and support with the goal of maintaining a high quality program overall. They are available to assist principals, teachers, student support team leaders, and parents in understanding procedures, leveraging resources, and navigating the special education process.

Liaisons' knowledge of federal law, state policies and local procedures makes them an invaluable part of Special Education's customer service. They are a key component in supporting programs at the school level, providing training to staff, and communicating with parents and teachers on tough issues.

Many times a liaison is not available immediately to respond to a question or concern due to being out in the schools. The support associates located at the Administration Building (254-4445) are available to assist in accessing a liaison or other resources.
