Hi! My name is Kim Golder and I am so excited to be part of the Second Grade teaching team. It's going to be a fun year, full of lots of learning and new adventures. I can't wait to see what the year has in store for us. I am going to learn all about you, but first I would like to tell you all about me.
I was born and raised in Wilmington and my mother is a retired elementary school teacher. I graduated from UNCW with a degree in Elementary Education and received my teaching certificate in 1993. In 1993, I also married my husband John, a native of Wrightsville Beach. We lived in Charleston, SC for five years, where I taught pre-kindergarten. We then moved to Charlotte, where I was the Director of a pre-school and owned my own business. On December 15, 2000, I gave birth to triplets, Jack, Kenleigh and Claire and shortly thereafter, my husband and I moved back to Wilmington.
After moving back to Wilmington, I stayed home with my children until they were school age, at which time I started teaching again. I have been at Wrightsville Beach School for 17 years and I love this wonderful school with all my heart! This is my 11th year teaching 2nd grade and this is truly my favorite grade to teach. My triplets attended WBS from kindergarten through 5th grade and are now attending three different universities!
I am so excited to be your second grade teacher and look forward to a Wonderful Year!!!
