I am excited to have you in my class this semester! I hope together we will not only learn but have fun in the process.
Although I am originally from Maine, I have spent the past twenty-two years in North Carolina. I graduated from Clemson (GO TIGERS!) with a BA in Secondary Education-English and later (while teaching) earned a Master's degree from UNCW in Curriculum & Instruction. I also received my National Boards Certification.
I spent one year teaching middle school in Wake County before starting my career at New Hanover High School. Then, for eight years, I worked with the Instructional Services Department for NHCS. It was an excellent learning experience, yet I missed working with students and being in the classroom. Therefore, I decided to return to New Hanover, and as they say, once a wildcat, always a wildcat!
Beyond teaching, I spend time juggling my two daughters' schedules (one is currently at University of Connecticut and the other is at New Hanover). I also travel as much as I can with my girls, run on a regular basis and travel around the US competing in ultra relay events. Through the course of the semester, I hope to learn about each of you and everything you enjoy.
