Michael Vey: The Prisoner of Cell 25

By: Richard Paul Evans

****

Michael Vey is a teenage boy who is anything but ordinary. He has special electrical powers which he keeps hidden until the day he meets Taylor. Taylor has powers, too! It turns out they were involved in some sort of experiment when they were born and Dr. Hatch, the man responsible wants them back. Dr. Hatch kidnaps Michael's mother and Taylor so Michael must find and defeat Hatch. This book is part of a series so it does leave with a cliffhanger and a lot of loose ends. **Spoiler Alert** They don't find his mother. This was a good read! Exciting, Sci-fi, Funny

This book has 10 short tales that tell the story of what happens after school is over for the day. Each tale follows a different character on their walk home from school and all of the stories are intertwined in an interesting and sometimes comical way. This was another great read from Jason Reynolds.

This is a really fantastic graphic novel that touches on a variety of topics. Jordan Banks is starting a new school with low diversity and struggles to fit in with the other students.
