About Me

I've been a teacher of Special Education at Murray Middle School since 2002 and I've taught 6th grade the majority of my time at Murray. I graduated from Radford University with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and then later went to UNCW to get licensed in Special Education (Learning Disabilities). I'm originally from Virginia and I'm married and have two beautiful children. My daughter's a middle schooler now and my son is in 2nd grade. We have two dogs: Sophie and Jax (Both rescues), a bunny named Jellybean, and recently we rescued and adopted a kitten, named Banks.

I'm very involved in Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Murray Cheerleading. In my spare time I enjoy going to the beach, hiking, reading books, doing crafts, and exercising. I'm an active member of my church as well. I do photography as another job and thoroughly enjoy this as much as teaching. I am looking forward to this year being with sixth grade.
