I was born and raised in good ole New Jersey - gasp! I moved with my family to Asheville, NC my sophomore year in high school because there was a picture and article in our local paper about Asheville and my mom fell in love. :) I attended UNCW, met my husband and never left! My husband and I are both teachers, but he prefers to hang with the big kids at Hoggard. We have 2 amazing children - Britton who is the sweetest 11 year old boy I have ever met (and is a 6th grade student at Roland Grise!), and Taylor who is 8, (and will be in 3rd grade this year!) but acts like she's 18 with a smile on her face every second of the day!
I completed my student teaching at Supply Elementary School in Brunswick County. I loved it so much I stuck around ... for 9 years! I have taught Kindergarten and 1st grade and honestly can't decide which one I love more. The truth is, it doesn't matter what subject matter I am teaching - I love teaching.
Though I made many meaningful relationships at Supply, both professionally and personally with students and their families, it was time for me to head closer to my home and my family.
I wish I could express how excited I am about being a part of the Parsley for 8 years now. All I can really say is it's going to be a great year!
