About the Teacher

I am a Wilmington local who grew up in Hampstead with my parents and two younger sisters. I attended Topsail Elementary, Middle and High School, and have lived in the Wilmington and Hampstead area my entire life. My husband, Terry, and I just welcomed our first child, Luna, this past January!

I graduated from UNCW in December 2013 with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, a focus in behavioral studies, and a minor in psychology. In 2022, I earned my National Board Certification in Early and Middle Childhood Literacy, which was a proud milestone in my teaching career.

This year marks my 13th year in education and my 12th year teaching third grade. I’ve also taught both second and fourth grade, but third grade truly has my heart. I am excited to begin my third year as a Porters Neck Pelican!

Outside the classroom, I love spending time with my family. Terry and I are enjoying our time with Luna and learning how to navigate life as parents. Some of my favorite things include reading a good book with a cup of coffee, enjoying a summer thunderstorm, traveling, playing trivia, collecting plants and spending time on the boat with family and friends.
