Meet Ms. Harkey

Hello one and all! I'm so excited to start another fun filled school year as a Mighty Mustang at Forest Hills Global Elementary School. Born and raised here in the great state of North Carolina, I am happy to now call Wilmington my home.Teaching is something I've always wanted to do. I guess you could say I grew up in a classroom. My mother was an elementary school teacher for over 30 years. I have many fond memories of being at her teacher table running my own reading groups, sorting papers and even teaching "lessons" from her overhead projector.

Since receiving my degree in Elementary Education from Barton College, I have taught both second and third grade.

I love the joy and excitement young children show for learning and exploring new ideas. Looking forward to an awesome year!
