Hello! I am Mrs. Strickland and I am so excited for our year together in fourth grade! This is my 13th year being an Awesome Admiral. I have previously taught 2nd, 3rd and 5th grade. My students know that I believe in them and that they are capable to doing amazing things. My favorite part about teaching is building relationships with my kids. It is very important for my students to care about one another and want each other to succeed.

I was born in Sylvester, GA and moved to Cary, NC when I was in the first grade. After high school, I went to cosmetology school and worked as a hair stylist for seven years while I went to school to become a teacher. I am an animal lover and have three dogs; Olive, Betty Parker and Charley.  They are all rescue animals and are spoiled rotten! I love to go to the beach, take pictures, read, and spend time with my friends and family. I also love to travel. This year I have been lucky enough to go to Greece, Iceland and the Canadian Rockies. 

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Social Studies from UNCW. 

 I am looking forward to begin this exciting journey with you and your child. It is going to be a great year!
