Introduction:
Hi! I am Ms. Walvatne. This is year 13 of teaching at North Fayette Valley! Here's a little bit of information about me: I graduated from North Fayette CSD in 2002. In May 2006, I graduated from Wartburg College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education with a K-8 reading endorsement. In May 2012, I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a Master of Arts Degree in Curriculum and Instruction in the field of Instructional Technology.
While I love teaching and enjoy all of my students, I also enjoy traveling, reading and spending time with my beautiful Miniature Schnauzers named Finn and Aoife as well as my family.
I have a love of and a deep commitment to education and that is all thanks to the support of my parents, teachers, and community members. I highly encourage parents to be involved in their student's academic affairs and support them on their educational journey. We are after all preparing them for their future.
"Nothing you do for children is ever wasted. They seem not to notice us, hovering, averting our eyes, and they seldom offer thanks, but what we do for them is never wasted."
