     Welcome to 2nd grade.  This is my 29th year at Newman and my 29th year in 2nd grade!  I love to read books and spend time with my family.  My husband's name is Troy.  He works at Curries as a welder and he is also a high school and middle school referee.  We have 4 children. All four of them graduated from Newman. Grant just graduated from Iowa State. He learned all about computer engineering.   My daughter, Rylie, is a teacher like me.  This is her 3rd year in her own classroom.  She is teaching 4th grade in Council Bluffs, Iowa.   Colin is an Electrical technician at Lehigh Cement.   Kyler works at Metal Craft as a designer.  We also have a granddaughter!  Her name is Aria and she will be 2 years old in January.    I am excited for another great year in 2nd grade.

I'm so excited to see you all in second grade!  This is my second year at Newman.  I love to read, play games, travel, and go for nature walks in my free time.  I love chips and pickles! I also LOVE to spend time with my husband and 2 kids.  My daughter, Aubree, is a 1st year teacher in Johnston. My son, Lane, is a senior at MCHS and loves to play hockey.   We also have a new puppy named Willow that we adore! (I'm sure you will hear about their antics often)!   I'm looking forward to a spectacular year in second grade!

Miss Lunning:

Welcome to second grade! This is my first year teacher and I'm so excited to be here at Newman. I graduated from Mason City High School in 2021 and then most recently Central College with my BA in Elementary Education . I love to go on bike rides, golf, and puzzle in my free time.  I love to spend time with my family. Both of my parents are teachers, so that is where I got my love of teaching. My sister is going into her third year of optometry school in Memphis TN. I'm looking forward to an amazing year in second grade!
