Meet The Teachers

Hi, I am Mrs. Schulte! I graduated from Aurora University in Illinois with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. My husband is Dylan Schulte who works for the city of Mason. Family, friends, and teaching are very important to me. Outside of teaching I enjoy watching football, going on walks with our dogs Maverick & Kobe, and spending time with family. This will be my 13th year of teaching at Newman! It is a wonderful blessing to be part of the Newman family. I truly enjoy working with kids and watching them grow academically and spiritually. I believe that teachers and parents should work together to make sure students reach their full potential. I am excited to discover and learn with your child! I hope to develop thinking skills, communication skills, self-confidence and a love for learning, all with the guidance of God, in each of my students. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be a part of your child's life. I look forward to the many memories we will make learning from each other!

Hi, I am Ms. Hutchison, and as you may (or may not) know, Mrs. Schulte's aunt! I was born and raised in Mason City, and graduated from Newman. I have three children: Molly, a 2012 Newman graduate, Cayley, a 2017 graduate, and Taylor, a 2019 graduate. We spent a total of 12 years living in Arizona, along with three of the earlier years being in Cedar Rapids before returning to Mason City and the Newman family in 2010. Since returning I taught 5th grade for three years, 3rd grade for two and I am now in my 8th year of 1st grade, which is where I started with my student teaching in Arizona after several years in preschool. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, going to movies, a good book, and enjoying the outdoors when the weather is nice! I hope to work with you to help your child continue to grow in mind and spirit, making new discoveries, building their confidence, and creating new friendships along the way. I look forward to getting to know each of my students over the course of the year and to all of the exciting experiences the year will bring and the many things my students will teach me!
