Above: Students in Action have been learning about the brain along with their own learning styles. They have taken a survey about their learning to create the materials list and have built a "Selfie Sculpture" showing how they learn best.
Welcome to the Action Program!
We are excited to introduce you to our vibrant community of learners in the Action program! Our class is designed to nurture the unique gifts and talents of each student in a supportive and engaging environment.
What is the Action Program?
In the Action program, students are given the opportunity to step out of the regular classroom and immerse themselves in specialized learning experiences with our dedicated gifted instructor. Each week, your child will spend 150 minutes in the gifted classroom, where they will engage in enriching activities that challenge their thinking and ignite their curiosity.
Our Goals
Our primary goal in the Action program is to foster a love of learning and empower each student to reach their full potential. By providing a tailored educational experience, we inspire creativity, encourage independence, and cultivate a growth mindset. We are committed to creating an inclusive and nurturing atmosphere where every child feels valued and supported in their academic journey.
Get Involved!
We invite you to stay engaged in your child’s learning throughout this school year. Together, we can celebrate their achievements and support their growth as they navigate this exciting path of discovery. Thank you for trusting us with your child’s education, and we look forward to making this a memorable and enriching experience for everyone involved!
Feel free to explore our website for more information, resources, and updates about the Action program!
Our Action students are excited to begin their exploration of Latin and Greek Root Words! Below, you will find a comprehensive master list of all the roots we will be covering, complete with their meanings, origins, and examples. In class, we will discuss various examples, and I encourage students to use words they are already familiar with that incorporate the root, so alternative examples are welcome as long as they contain the root word.
Action students, we will introduce 10 new root words each week, along with their meanings, origins, and examples. Students will also take a weekly quiz in class to assess their understanding. Let’s embark on this linguistic journey together!
