Free and Reduced Lunch Program

Breakfast and lunch will be available for pick up on Mondays and Thursdays between 9:00am-11:00am in front of the school. Please come to the double doors and wait by the bollards. Your meals will be placed on a table outside the double doors.

If you were not in need of meals and decide you would like meals for your eligible children, please contact Mrs. Walsh at kwalsh@netcongschool.org and Dr. Ceresnak at kceresnak@netcongschool.org and we will work with you to get you the meals you need.

Maschio's Food Service will provide boxed meals for students to be distributed to Netcong School students. Meals will be available for pick up at the Netcong Elementary School at 26 College Road, Netcong, NJ 07857 between 9am-11am every Monday and Thursday.

Meal distribution will begin again on 4/20/2020 and will continue through 6/15/2020 which is the last day of school.

Meals to be claimed for reimbursement per day: 80 breakfast and 80 lunch. This number is subject to change based on how things progress with the COVID-19 crisis. The district is keeping track of what families pick up meals each day. All students in the district and their siblings in the home under the age of 18 are eligible for free meals. An application was submitted and approved to provide meals to all district students regardless of their eligibility for free or reduced lunch. Letters went out to all families in the district advising this in both English and Spanish. The number of meals claimed each week is subject to change based on district needs.

  • Maschio’s kitchens use Food Safety Plans based on the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) system.
  • Food Service Directors complete bi-weekly HACCP checklists to assess needs and implement corrective actions.
  • District Supervisors are “ServSafe” certified and required to maintain certification.
  • Employees take an annual food safety course, which is supplemented by in-service training at least twice a month.

Meal distribution will take place at the school in a grab and go format. Meals will be handed out individually to families and will be put together by staff at Maschio's food service in accordance with the 2010 Healthy Hunger Free Kids Act guidelines set forth by the USDA. Meals will be distributed on Mondays and Thursdays from 9am - 11am. Three meals for breakfast and three meals for lunch will be distributed on Mondays while two meals for breakfast and two meals for lunch will be distributed on Thursdays.

Staff disseminating meals will meet families at the door, inquire as to how many registered students need meals, gather the meals, place them on a table outside the building, and then have the parents retrieve the meals. Gloves and masks will be worn. No one will come into the building to retrieve meals and parents/guardians are advised to stay behind the bollards until it is safe to retrieve their children's meals.
