Tournament Standings and Ground Rules

         WELCOME TO THE SA/COMAL RAISING CANES BASEBALL CLASSIC 

HOSTED BY:  NORTH EAST AND COMAL ISD 

Date: February 29th through March 2nd 2024

We will host a 41 Team Tournament that will be played on 15 different fields.  Each team will play four pool play games. The top four seeds will play in the Championship bracket on Saturday and seeds five through eight will play in the Consolation bracket. The remaining teams will be matched up for their guaranteed 5th game on Saturday.   We would like to thank you for coming to our tournament this year.    

TOURNAMENT RULES: 

1. All Host Sites will be the Home Team for their games and occupy their home dugout. 

2. All other games will have the Home Team designated by a coin flip prior to the game.  

3. Each Team will give three Diamond D1 baseballs to the umpire prior to each game. (You will need to bring your own baseballs).  

4. Courtesy Runners for the Pitcher and Catcher will be used as speed up rules. 

5. An 8 Run Rule after Five Innings will be in effect.  

6. Each Game will have a two hour time limit.  No new inning will start after the two hour time limit is up.  If a game finishes in a tie and time permits, extra innings can be played until the game reaches the two hour time limit.  A game can end in a tie once the time limit is up.  

7. THE HOME TEAM WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR KEEPING THE OFFICIAL PITCH COUNT.  EACH TEAM BE SURE TO BRING YOUR PITCH COUNT CHARTS.  THE VISITING TEAM CAN TAKE A PICTURE OF THE CHART FOLLOWING THE GAME.   

8. How seeding will be determined will be sent out prior to the tournament.  

9. NO SEEDS or GUM allowed at Northeast Sports Complex as well as Field Number 2 at Northside.  

10. No metal cleats allowed on Northside Field Number 2. 

11. Winning Coach text the score to 830-832-8089 and 210-219-1747 at the conclusion of each game.

Ties: # of wins trumps # of losses  Example:  3-1 record will be seeded higher than a 2-0-2 record team

*** HIGHER SEED IS HOME TEAM IN CHAMPIONSHIP BRACKET.  HOST TEAM WILL OCCUPY THEIR OWN DUGOUT.
