The following are coding apps that can be used on the iPads.

Hopscotch– This award-winning app introduces coding through games and allows students to publish games for others to play.

Daisy the Dinosaur– Navigate with Daisy through code commands to introduce your students to the beginnings of code.

Box Island - Takes kids on an exciting adventure, while teaching the fundamentals of coding. Kids apply the basics, such as loops and conditionals, to progress through the super fun and challenging gameplay.

Cargo-Bot– Similar to Daisy the Dinosaur, Cargo-Bot uses commands to move a robot around. This app was completely designed on an iPad and is a great example to show students what is possible with code!

Tynker– Targeted at grades 3-8, Tynker focuses on a “watch-learn-do” system to teach computer programming skills that guides students through coding lessons and applications.

Kodable– Another fun, colorful app that teaches coding, Kodable teaches commands in an environment that is very approachable for younger students.

Swift Playground-If your students are ready to move on to making their own iOS apps, introducing them to Swift is the first step. This coding app teaches the Swift coding language starting at basic tasks and works through more advanced features of the Swift language. Swift playground works with the dash and sphero robots.
