The SLINKI Conferences

The Goals of SLINKI/SLISE

The Spanish Linguistics in North Carolina (SLINKI) conference was founded in 2011 by faculty at North Carolina State University and Fayetteville State University, in order to share research and encourage collaboration among faculty and students across North Carolina and throughout the Southeast.

In 2016 the conference expanded past the borders of NC, and the name was expanded to include Spanish Linguistics in the Southeast (SLISE). It is now known by either SLINKI or SLISE, or most often as both together (SLINKI/SLISE).

The conference has a one day, one session at a time format, and features talks by leading faculty and up and coming graduate students from throughout the region. In these times of budget cuts and increasing conference costs, the original goal of creating a manageable, affordable and friendly conference continues. SLINKI provides a venue for both traditional research presentations as well as poster presentations.
