We care about your privacy!
To verify that employee and retiree information is kept private, we follow strict data protection and confidentiality procedures.
Our research team at North Carolina State University has received approval from the University’s Institutional Review Board and from the legal team at the North Carolina State Treasurer’s Retirement Systems Division (RSD) to conduct this research. RSD will provide us with the administrative data necessary for the project. We are committed to keeping these data confidential. We will administer surveys to a sample of current employees and retirees, and all survey responses will be kept confidential. Then, we will securely combine the survey responses and the administrative records. Only the Principal Investigators and Research Assistants working directly on the project will have access to any project data.
To ensure that participant information is kept confidential, we take several precautions. Before analyzing the files, we remove any personal information that could identify a study participant. We will not identify any individual, include any personal information about participants, or describe any individual survey responses in any reports or papers about this study. Throughout the study the data will be stored securely and password protected and all confidential data records will be destroyed upon completion of the project.
