Laboratory for Emerging Imaging Technologies

Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering

North Carolina State University and The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

We are a research group focused on solving current problems in biomedical imaging computation, physics, system design, and medical applications. Led by Dr. David Lalush, we collaborate with many colleagues at UNC and NC State to develop technical solutions that can improve health outcomes for patients.

Current Research Areas

  • Simultaneous PET-MRI imaging

    • Simultaneous PET and MRI in cancer treatment (breast cancer, sarcoma, renal cell carcinoma)

    • Simultaneous PET and MRI in neuroscience

    • Multispectral quantitative MRI in orthopedic applications

    • Image analysis of PET and multispectral MR images

    • MRI-guided PET reconstruction and quantitation

  • X-ray imaging

    • Tomosynthesis from Discrete Source Arrays
