Kel McClanahan, Esq.

Executive Director

Kel McClanahan is an attorney specializing in national security law and information and privacy law. He received his Master of Arts cum laude in Security Studies from the Georgetown University Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service, his Juris Doctorate from the American University Washington College of Law, and his Master of Laws in National Security Law from the Georgetown University Law Center. Before chartering National Security Counselors with his fellow directors, he served as Director of FOIA Operations for the James Madison Project and Of Counsel to the Law Office of Mark S. Zaid, P.C.. He has taught National Security Law at the American University Washington College of Law, the University of the District of Columbia, and Point Park University. He also sits on the Board of Directors of the National Military Intelligence Foundation and previously served as Associate Editor for the American Intelligence Journal. He belongs to the bars of New York, the District of Columbia, the U.S. Supreme Court, and several other federal courts.

Bradley P. Moss, Esq.

Deputy Executive Director

A 2006 graduate of American University's Washington College of Law, Bradley P. Moss received his undergraduate degree from The George Washington University in 2003 with a major in International Relations and a minor in Peace Studies. After clerking for the National Security Archive during his law school tenure, he joined the Law Office of Mark S. Zaid, P.C. as a law clerk in 2006, where he currently practices as a Partner in addition to serving as Deputy Executive Director for National Security Counselors and the James Madison Project. He is a member of the Bar of the District of Columbia and the State of Illinois, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit and the U.S. District Courts for the District of Columbia, the District of Maryland and the Northern District of Illinois.

Sean Heare

Information Director

Sean Heare, JD, CISSP-ISSMP, GLEG, GREM serves as our Information Security Expert. An eclectic and rare technologist with soft skills, he has worked with computers in some form since the late 80s. Sean has helped customers such as the World Bank Group, America Online, Unisys, TSA and American Type Culture Collection resolve Cybersecurity, Privacy, Physical Security and Compliance issues. He has several published papers in the field of Information Security published in the SANS reading room, a baccalaureate in Philosophy and English (cum laude) from Excelsior College and a Graduate Certificate in Counterintelligence from Mercyhurst College, and a Juris Doctor from the Washington College of Law.
