About Mrs. Schaefer

Ever since I was a kindergartner, I knew I wanted to be a teacher. I wanted to inspire kids just like my kindergarten teacher did for me. Here I am, many years later, doing what I love. Teaching kindergarten and creating a love of learning and excitement in students! I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and Intervention from Capital University in December of 2008 and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Ashland University in August 2011.

I have been teaching since January 2009. After teaching in special education for 6 years (grades 2,3,5, and 6), I taught 2nd grade for two years. I have been teaching kindergarten since 2016. Each level that I have taught at has brought new experiences that have helped me grow into the teacher I am today. I believe that every student can grow, dream, and achieve. I am excited to partner with you to use their passions and strengths to help them succeed!

When I am not teaching, I am spending time with my family. My husband Joel and I have been married since 2008 and have 3 children and 1 dog. They are full of energy, keep us on our toes and help remind us that we all still need to be a kid at heart at times! We love camping in our camper and spend many weekends at State Parks exploring and making memories! We also love to hike, have campfires, go to parks, play games, and read.
