What time does my student eat lunch?

If your child is in Wu Laoshi, Profe Maria or Profe Erin's class, recess is from 10:35 - 11:00 and lunch from 11:00 - 11:25.

If your child is in Nu Laoshi, Profe Kelly or Profe Luis' class, recess is from 10:40 - 11:05 and lunch from 11:05 - 11:30.

What does snack look like in third grade?

In third grade, each student is responsible for bringing their own snack each day. The snack on the school supply list will be used for students who forget to bring a snack.

When will my child have spelling words?

Students will be evaluated and placed into spelling groups sometime in late September/early October. As a grade level, we will let you know as soon as students have their first set of spelling words.

What should my child be doing for homework each week?

Students are expected to read 30 minutes each day, 15 minutes in each language. Students are also responsible for practicing their spelling words at home 3-4 times a week. In a typical week, students will receive math homework 3-4 times per week. Always refer to your child's TACO (agenda planner) to check for daily homework.

What time does the school day officially start?

Students are expected to be in class by 7:50. They are marked tardy by the front desk after that time.

What if my child's transportation information changes?

You must contact Laine Krohnke, the transportation coordinator, as well as the front desk staff when your child's after school plans change. You can email them at Lkrohnke@mylila.org and Ls.frontdesk@mylila.org.
