Geometry Unit

Students will be able to...

• Use adjacent, vertical, supplementary, and complementary angles.
• Understand and apply the properties of triangles, including the Triangle Inequality Theorem.
• Calculate measures of angles formed by parallel lines, including alternate interior, alternate exterior, and corresponding angles.
• Use equations to find unknown angle measures (Honors only).
• Calculate area and perimeter of polygons.
• Calculate area and circumference of circles.
• Calculate area and perimeter of compound shapes.
• Identify 3D figures as well as the faces that compose them.
• Calculate volumes of prisms, cylinders, pyramids, cones, and spheres.
• Calculate lateral and surface areas of prisms, cylinders, pyramids, cones, and spheres.
• Calculate volume of compound 3D figures (Honors only).
• Calculate lateral and surface areas of compound 3D figures (Honors only).
